Mana Pools Safari Lodge

Mana Pools Safari Lodge

Mana Pools Safari Lodge, otherwise known as ‘Vine Camp’ by the locals, is situated on the lower Zambezi river floodplain, 15km upstream of the national parks Nyamepi main camp. Mana Pools is a celebrated resource in the Zambezi Valley, the word ‘Mana’ meaning ‘four’ in the local African language because of its four large pools carved out by the sheer force of the Zambezi current. The Lodge is nestled beneath a wild mango tree forest and surrounded by African acacias and mahogany trees. Mana Pools is applauded for its abundant bird life, and is one of the world’s wildest and best preserved natural territories.  Fully powered by solar, our Game Lodge is located on a private nature reserve surrounded by breathtaking views and our free roaming wildlife.

Mana Wildlife

Often seen in Mana are Elephant, Buffalo, Impala, Waterbuck, Eland, Kudu, Nyala, Warthog, Zebra, Lion, Leopard, Wild Dogs, Hyena, Crocodiles, Hippo and much more…

Even though the mighty Zambezi is only 300m from camp, the elephants still choose to drink our fresh clean water from the pond behind our spectacular 7m long bar. In the evening, the plain is brightly lit with flood lights, where one can often witness lion kills from the safety of the dining area, as well as various other nocturnal predators.

Our impressive bird life is not to be missed! Our frequent sightings to name a few: Narina Trogon, Giant Kingfisher, Spotted Creepers, Pittas, Lilian’s Lovebirds, Grey-Headed Parrots, Meyers Parrots , Ground Hornbills, to various spur fowls as well as an abundance of raptors, vultures and aquatic herons.

Once in a life time experience Mana Pools safari lodge was just amazing. Firstly the accommodation was very luxurious. Private rooms all facing the Zambezi river, each room surrounded by beautiful vine trees and you can often see Impala & Elephants and wild life roaming on the banks of the Zambezi river. The rooms are large and well equipped. The food, safari's and staff are of top class, very exclusive well maintainedand over all a 5 star. Would recommend to anyone looking for an escape to the unspoiled African Bush with plenty wild life roaming free, a break from the hustle of life. Thanks for an experience of a life time. We will be back.
